Any form of raw milk legislation in Wisconsin will only aid DATCP in their agenda of control of the food and infringe upon your right to procure food directly from the farm. The precedent has been set with Vernon Hershberger. Jury nullification occurs when a jury returns a verdict of "Not Guilty" despite its belief that the defendant is guilty of the violation charged. The jury in effect nullifies a law that it believes is either immoral or wrongly applied to the defendant whose fate they are charged with deciding. WRMA's President Brian Wickert's words speak volumes here folks, there is no need to change the law beware of these wolve's in sheeps clothing. The WRMA will only take away from you what Vernon so valiantly gained for you. The jury has spoken, let raw milk flow. Bad legislation is the worst form of tyranny, WRMA DID NOT SUPPORT VERNON, but will use his victory to the best of their ability to help Mr. Wickert's friends at DATCP regain control of your food. Caveat emptor.
"In 2010, a bill legalizing the purchase of raw milk directly from Grade A licensed dairy farms passed the Wisconsin state legislature by a wide margin. Then-Governor Jim Doyle had indicated that he would sign the bill when it reached his desk, but he made an about-face and suddenly vetoed the bill in May 2010. Legislators, raw milk supporters, and local media suspected the influence of the powerful Wisconsin dairy industry."
More PROOF of a bribed and treasonous government pandering for corporate profits over the good of the State. Break out the Tar and Feathers....Can we start a mail in campaign where everyone mails their legislator and their "regulators" a piece of tar paper and some feathers? This MIGHT help the legislators get the message....
Your reality check bounced.Democrats arrested 4 plead guilty to actual voter fraud in New York via absentee ballots! There were 52 cases confirmed and jailed in the 2012 election all were Democrats and one was an exe. with the NAACP. I woke up to this reality and wished I had hit the snooze button. So the next time you call for a reality check please make sure you can cover it ;) Have a nice day
After most of True the Vote’s plans last year were ruined by exposure by the press, some may have thought they might crawl away into a corner and rethink this whole voter harassment and suppression thing. Nope. True the Vote is back in 2013 reloaded with new offshoots and new plans — even as the old plans continue proving to be misfires. Last year, they launched “Voto Honesto,” their “Hispanic initiative” on electoral reform, pushing for voter ID and proof of citizenship laws to vote and register. This year they’ve jumped off with two new groups:
1. True the Vote NOW
2. Citizen Patriot Response
Finally, the many claims of voter fraud by True the Vote have been proven false calls all too frequently. Their poor record on that continues. Yesterday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement closed out several investigations into voter fraud in the state finding no evidence of it occurring. One of those cases came from True the Vote who alleged last year that several dozen people had been voting in both Florida and Rhode Island. The Florida law department found that to be untrue. As reported in Florida’s News Herald yesterday:
Another recent case that has been closed involved whether one voter had cast ballots in both Florida and Rhode Island. The case was initiated by the group called True the Vote, which initially said 36 people had voted in Florida and other states.
FDLE closed the case after state election officials were told by Rhode Island authorities that the name of the voter there was probably wrong and was listed incorrectly because of a poll worker’s error.
Something tells me you would never write that story. In fact, you and your group here might very well support any Government intrusion, as long as it intrudes on your ideological adversaries.
can you tell me what exactly causes the food to be bad , is it the herbicides and pesticides or the fact that they are genetic engineered or both . please explain I 've heard so much negative stuff but not the exact reason.
ur case is most believable 2 me and I am no conspiracy theorist I do however an overconcentration of power/money by 2 few these corporations and ppl like the cock bros must b reigned in join me on fb https://www.facebook.com/groups/291006497626080/ this group is about trying to get the control of this country back from corps and 2 middle class
I do not trust PBS with 23 million from the Koch brothers. They have been putting feel good nature shows and even the news hour is dumbed down. After watching Amy Goodman and Thom Hartmann on free speech tv I now see through the programming on PBS.
Why don't you give some examples of people voting multiple times, dead people voting, felons voting or non-citizens voting? You can't, because examples are so rare as to be virtually non-existent. The very few documented cases of people trying to vote a second time during the 2012 elections turned out to be Republicans who were trying to create the situations you've erroneously described as a way to justify voter suppression tactics. Your party can't win on it's record of enriching the 1% while being anti-women, anti-gay, anti-minorities, anti-labor and anti-middle class, it can only win by denying thousands of Americans their right to vote. Check out the reality-based world some day . . . . it will save you a lot of needless fear and anxiety about voter fraud.
Our nation’s current law for regulating toxic chemicals, the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) should be to blame. The ineffectiveness in this law has serious consequences for both human health insurance and the surroundings. Chemical buildup in this Great Lakes fish and unnecessary contact with toxic chemicals are associated with cancers, developmental delays, and reproductive problems.

Thank you very much for the detailed summary of what is currently in the WI state budget bill, and likely to stay there [Scott Walker, GOP Slip ALEC Education Agenda Into Wisconsin Budget].
Consider "connecting the final dot": rather than "radical overhall of WI education, the proposed changes described in the article referenced above are most likely building the infrastructure for a totally separate educational system: governing body [state level charter school authorizing/supervising body], live humans to operate it [new teacher credentials for charter school teachers], and funding [vouchers]. Depending on how the voucher stuff is worded, the Governor could line-item veto whatever language limits it to a low number of districts, and voila, a new, parallel school system has been born. Personally, I think that this "parallel universe" is the goal, not restructuring the current system.
Totally agree, people are getting free food! What's the problem again? It would make more sense to limit the amount that could be spent rather than marking organic as 'junk'. That a gallon of milk or pound of meat is twice as much or more than the standard is what makes me agree it should not be allowed.
As Karen points out (see above) the HSUS do tremendous work shutting down puppy mills. They also work to crack down on dog fighting - rescuing thousands of dogs from both of these types of operations and pushing for stricter laws to bring an end to these forms of abuse.
They provide spay-neuter clinics, which is perhaps one of the most puppy-friendly things to do, all the while leading dedicated campaigns for adoption through public service announcements and awareness campaigns that your small local shelter would never be able to afford.
Their website and magazines are always providing information for dog owners on how to care for their pets and solve "problem behaviors" - one of the biggest reasons why pets get abandoned. This helps to stem the tide of dogs that end up in shelters, and create sociable and well-trained animals that can be more easily adopted should anything happen to their owners.
Their Disaster Response teams provide assistance and medical care in times of emergency, and thanks to donors they have the necessary equipment to carry out their missions. Their trained rescuers have helped save thousands of pets in need.
Finally, their Street Dog Welfare program works to help alleviate the suffering encountered by dogs in developing countries, where overpopulation is a problem.
They seem like a pretty dog-gone dog friendly bunch to me! Just because the HSUS does not run any dog shelters per se does not mean that they don't help a LOT of dogs on a daily basis!
When it comes to farm animals (the last on their list, actually) their main concern is bringing an end to factory farming - one cruel practice at a time. In fact, they encourage better husbandry practices (like cage-free farming) and bring much needed public support to farmers who are invested in the welfare of their animals.
Finally, a lot of people working for HSUS do indeed seem to love animals enough to have personally sworn off from eating them, and are not ashamed to let their choices be known.
At the same time, their website and most of their articles concerning diet ask people to simply *reduce* their meat and dairy consumption. I would hardly call promoting Meatless Mondays and a "flexitarian" approach to be a "PETA type agenda".
You say "it's not because I don't support public television as an Idea, but I don't support PBS's weak nature. BBC has many many great shows..." I assume you support funding PBS the way BBC is funded, by direct tax on TV sets, whether you watch or not. I prefer funding by the users to a tax on everyone. Seems more "grown up" to me.
That the Kochtopus spends money on private thugs to keep away people they don't want hassling them is somewhat bizarre, it is as least somewhat understandable. What I find truly outrageous is that the police state and the surveillance state, under watch of the "progressive" Obama Regime, is spending billions of the taxpayers' dollars to monitor and oppress people and some people seem more upset about what private oligarchs are doing.
Guess what people, you can boycott the Koch boys and others like them. Nobody forces you to give them your money. You can choose not to buy their crap. With the surveillance/police state, you have no choice. Are we to pretend that Team Obama is oblivious to what is going on?
First of all, ITVS is NOT an arm of PBS; while it contributes films to PBS, it is completely independent of the network. Second, the dispute about Park Avenue, which was part of the PBS national schedule, was between the New York affiliate WNET and ITVS...it had nothing to do with PBS the network which fed the damn film! This difference of opinion about Citizen Koch is between ITVS, an aggregator of independent films and a producer; guess what, this happens all the time...let me repeat, all the time...in the TV business. I find it fascinating that ITVS, which has been a champion of independent filmmakers for years, has been completely ignored and disrespected by a handful of "news" outlets that can't get the simplest facts straight; and if you're going to trash PBS, shouldn't there at least be a quote from someone at PBS? Every one of these articles just parrot the same BS...I guess conspiracy theories aren't just the purview of the far right.
YOU DO. That's exactly the kind of attitude people like the Koch Brothers want from Americans. These men were raised by a man who adopted a communist philosophy about business and now their possess immoral amounts of wealth AND POWER over far too many areas of our democracy. What will you say when they obtain that same level of power over YouTube and other key aspects of your freedoms. That's the danger in believing that Freedom is Free. It most definitely IS NOT and if you pull your head out of the well protected idea of what you believe American liberty & freedom to be, you will realize this democracy you are so falsely secure in has largely been purchased with millionaire money. this the reason the idea of United in the nation is no longer a national philosophy. It's now a battle cry.
I agree that every CITIZEN should be encouraged to vote. What I will NOT tolerate is dead people voting, people voting multiple times , convictedf felons voting OR NON CITIZENS given the privileges of citizenship by giving them the right to vote. If this amendment is ever written it must include provisions on how we identify who is and who is NOT a citizen ans staes must be allowed to clean out their voting roles and remove the dead voters. Let's improve the system so that people cannot vote twice or more. Your arguement of "college stipudents"--they can vote absentee at their home address, rather than voting twice once at their college polling place and again as an absentee. Seniors can easily get an ID. All of the seniors that the Dems carried to the polls-- how about carrying them to get an ID or help them vote absentee. There are very few voters who cannot find a way to vote, but mynfearnis those who vote multiple times.
The statute demands 501 C4 activities be EXCLUSIVELY devoted to the public welfare.
Why is it the media and all complaintants can even question the issue?
Why is that fact not quoted every time the discussion is approached??
Why isn't our brave Congressional Committee facing that fact and ending the controversy?
Davis Koch is, I believe, singled out because he has been for decades using his wealth to undermine democracy more than any other billionaire. He is different and highly dangerous because his wealth is so massive and such means, and the power and influence it buys, are a major threat to American democracy. Photographed frequently at New York social events, and accompanied by his trophy wife, he always registers a sly and sinister smile, a factor that exemplifies an individual who hides the dirty secrets of the human spirit.
Calling PBS all the names you used shows you don't know what you're talking about. PBS has very good shows...Nature, NOVA, Masterpiece... just to name a few...and has educated many on many subjects way before History Channel, Discovery, NatGeo, "Arts & Entertainment," Science Channel. Give credit where credit is due. I'll assume you're too young to remember pre-1990 TV.
"reportedly not very good?" reported by whom? One of the Koch Brothers is a major supporter of NOVA. NOVA canned a proposed episode on global warming. Coincidence? I doubt it. The continuing relationship between PBS and these vultures decreases their credibility a thousand fold.
