How fast would Martin have had to run to avoid conflict with Zimmerman? Zimmerman pursued Martin, against the instructions of the police dispatcher.

Martin had every bit as much right to "stand his ground" as Zimmerman. He was only trying to get home safely from the store, and here he was, being pursued and confronted by this self-important idiot with a gun. Standing his ground cost him his life.

So much for an armed society being a polite society.

  • ALEC Ratified the NRA-Conceived Law That May Protect Trayvon Martin's Killer   11 years 19 weeks ago

The correct if then conclusion is as follows: If Treyvon Martin had avoided conflict with Zimmerman, he would still be alive. I have been confronted by pushy and not so nice members of neighborhood watch groups, both as a high schooler, college student, and a grownup. I have always responded politely because I was in their community. Treyvon martin picked a fight with a man who was on his own turf. That man had a right to question Treyvon Martin's presence. Treyvon Martin apparently chose to escalate when he had no moral high ground to do so. In the resulting fight, which was instigated by Treyvon Martin, a smaller and weaker Zimmerman did the only thing he could do to defend himself against a much bigger Martin and pulled his gun and fired. Zimmerman did not have the luxury of deciding where to shoot Martin, as Martin was on top of him and pummeling him.

Unfortunately Promiseland is TRUE as is Gasland which can be watched on PBS Internet. I can say this because I have been poisoned with Methane/Natural Gas and I have all the test results and pictures to prove what is in my lungs, blood and my entire body are all identified in Methane/Natural Gas. I have pictures of all my cancers surgeries, tests, scans. YES FRACKING will the DESTROY the US and it's human and animal inhabitants. I inhaled Methane Gas, but Fracking is MUCH worse as it poisons the soil, water, eco system, water table and spread to lakes, rivers and streams. Cattle are dying from drinking toxic waste water from fracking and being tested across the nation, all test results show the toxic effects of fracking chemicals. If these cattle do not die, but sickly and cannot produce, will these toxic animals be put on the market for food consumption? WHY are Gag Orders being put on Doctors in PA so they can NOT release to their patients what is in their test results??? Cattle tests can be released, but NOT human tests, BUT animals cannot talk, but humans can. If you had cancerous toxic chemicals in your test results, wouldn't you like to know so you could start treatment? THIS is a Patients RIGHT to know their test results that they paid for. WHAT are the Gas Companies and Politicians AFRAID of to put these gag orders on the doctors? I am sending my story around the world anyone wanting a copy can contact me at: gfrms@charter.net It is long, so I have to break it up in sections or it doesn't go through.

Sen. Johnson is concerned about "attacks on our freedoms," is he? So why isn't he demanding an answer from certain of his fellow Senate colleagues who are involved in creating yet another amnesty for illegal aliens at a time when 20 million Americans can't find full-time employment? Why isn't he railing against our federal government for allowing 7 million illegal aliens to keep their non-farming payroll jobs. Isn't this an attack on the economic freedom of our unemployed?

  • GOP Vote Rigging Stalls in Virginia and Florida but Pushes On in Wisconsin and Michigan -- Why?   11 years 20 weeks ago

One of the reasons why the Electoral College has remained in effect for all of these years is because it is assumed that all of the swing states benefit so greatly from the attention and advertising dollars, that no politician from these states would advocate eliminating it. However, if the state republicans are willing to sacrifice the attention and money that comes from these contests, then they can not logically oppose shifting to a popular vote, at least not on those grounds. This could be a unique opportunity to push for the elimination of the Electoral College. Now may be the time to demand a Federal response to the question, "Why aren't we allowed to elect our president directly?" Sign the petition at:

Frontline: thank you for your fantastic but long overdue report.
Frankly, the resignation of government officials like Breuer are essentially irrelevant.
President Obama ran on the agenda of leveling the playing field for the American people. The one sure way he can add substance to that agenda is to proceed quickly with the indictment & prosecution of those top bankers and not the "small fish" that we keep hearing about. Had it not been for these top executive bankers of this country, we wouldn't have seen the unprecedented collective robbery that we have had to endured and will continue to pay the price for years to come. The one real way to convince us all that the justice system still works in this country is to nail these bastards that are still laughing their way to their banks; Hog Heaven indeed!
The outcome will be a renewed sense of justice while restoring our faith on our financial system.

There must be circumstances that caused charges to be NEVER brought against senior bank executives in one of the biggest financial failures in U.S. history. Our economy has not recovered, and the banks have not fixed the problems that created this fiasco in the first place. Banks colluded and created risky financial instruments and violated their fiduciary duties to U.S. citizens and institutions in the U.S. and abroad for YEARS without repercussions. There absolutely is fraud. Any 5-year old can tell you that.

I am the George Hartzman Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi wrote of the other week, and I believe Wachovia CEO Robert Steel bought Wachovia’s stock in a breach of trust, confidence and his fiduciary duty to shareholders, US taxpayers and our legal system, while in possession of material, nonpublic information.

On July 9, 2008, Robert Steel became president and CEO of Wachovia after working for Goldman Sachs from 1976 to 2004 and the US Treasury under former Goldman Sachs CEO Henry Paulson from October 10, 2006 until July 9, 2008. Mr. Steel was “the principal adviser to the secretary on matters of domestic finance and led the department's activities regarding the U.S. financial system, fiscal policy and operations, governmental assets and liabilities, and related economic matters,” according to Wikipedia’s biography. Mr. Steel most likely knew about other firm’s borrowings via his time spent at the U.S. Treasury Department.

On July 22, 2008, Mr. Steel personally purchased 1,000,000 shares of Wachovia’s stock as the company’s undisclosed Federal Reserve Term Auction Facility (TAF) borrowing reached $12.5 billion, which appears not to have been disclosed in securities filings audited by KPMG.

In an interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer On Monday, September 15, 2008, Robert Steel said "I think it's really about...transparency. People have to understand the assets and really be able to say, this is what I own... Complete disclosure. ...we can work through this with transparency, liquidity and capital. ...Our strategy was to give you all the data so you could make your own model. We tell you what we're doing... ...we're raising capital ourselves by basically shrinking the balance sheet, cutting the dividend, cutting expenses. We can create more capital ourselves that way... for now, we feel like we can work through this..." After Jim Cramer asked "Should there be any sort of quick regulatory relief from the SEC that would make life easier to be able to make your bank much stronger?", Mr. Steel responded "I don't think it's about my bank."

After not reporting TAF loans, Wachovia's CEO wrote "I, Robert K. Steel, certify that: I have reviewed this Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 of Wachovia Corporation; Based on my knowledge, this report does not contain any untrue statement of a material fact or omit to state a material fact necessary to make the statements made, in light of the circumstances under which such statements were made, not misleading with respect to the period covered by this report; Based on my knowledge, the financial statements, and other financial information included in this report, fairly present in all material respects the financial condition, results of operations and cash flows of the registrant as of, and for, the periods presented in this report" on October 30, 2008.

Mr. Steel was at least aware of Wachovia’s Federal Reserve loans since July, 2012, if not the undisclosed loans to multiples of other financial institutions.

If Mr. Steel was “the principal adviser…on matters of domestic finance and led the department's activities regarding the U.S. financial system, fiscal policy and operations”, how could he not have known and acted on undisclosed material information?

On June 22, 2010, Robert Steel was appointed Deputy Mayor for Economic Development by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, after which, Steel resigned his seat on the Wells Fargo board. According to Morningstar data, Mr. Steel owned 601,903 shares of Wells Fargo in 2010, which would be worth $20,446,644.91 as of October 26, 2012.

Justice isn't blind, but the public is. So, we get what we are.

For example, a recent lawsuit filed in the US Court of Federal Claims, by a vet who claims that it's the US government--not Chase and the big banks--that are responsible foreclosing on millions of VA- and other federally insured home loans.

If your loan was federally-insured and a "bank stole" it in foreclosure, under certain conditions the US government should be held accountable. That's why Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and VA-insured loans AREN'T part of the National Mortgage settlement. The US government can't settle with itself, for letting Chase and other banks take your home--because the federal government knew or should have known, what was going on since in many cases, the banks didn't have the proper paperwork, to foreclose anyway. They only had ACCESS to YOUR LOAN FILE--which they got by working with the federal government to service your loan or "safe guard" the paperwork.

Yet, NO ONE is talking about it. WHY?

Many attorneys know this is the case--but, no one "discusses" it on the Internet. The only way this can occur is that MANY judges, attorneys, real estate agents and government employees are IN on this--it boggles the mind.

The reason this CROOK resigned, is that he MIGHT have a conscience. What about the rest of them, that know what's going on and are HELPING to pull off the second biggest land grab in the US, since the settlers took the land from the Native Americans?

See the video on our YouTube Channel, "4 Justice Radio".

Read the complaint summary on Scribd.com, search "Veterans Foreclosures"
on the second page of the search results you'll see the complaint, "VA Veteran v. United States", the case is #13-11.

Really? How grass roots is it for a multi-billionaire and a Florida based mining company to come and destroy northern Wisconsin. Before a decision is made, take a look at what has happended to West Virginia and it's open pit mining. Polluted streams, uninhabited lands, mud slides and general destruction. Is that what you want northern Wisconsin to become? Again, really, follow the money.

Over the years I've watched the Republicans (and a few Democrats) bow down to these brothers from Hell. They met with Mich. Gov. WE THE PEOPLE must demand transparency when it comes to these snakes--and others like them. (such as Whirlpool Corp.--"Puppet-master" of Berrien Co., Mich.) The morons in office need to do some serious soul-searching,(if they actually have one!!)and look at all the harm they have brought on the American citizens. Not ALL money is GOOD money. • Fracking Industry Goes After Promised Land Film   11 years 20 weeks ago

I have not seen any of the films referenced here. All I have to say is that Wyoming experience with fracking has been tragic, with poisoned water wells, residents made terminally ill and properties made unsaleable. This sparsely populated state's regulatory mechanism was an abject failure. Who in a more populous state like New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio can assure us that the regulatory effort there will not become corrupted as it was 30 or 40 years ago out west? (see Eli Lustgarten's excellent articles on Wyoming fracking)

If you think criminals obey gun free zone laws simple look at the Lone Star College shooting where two criminals were on campus with concelled handguns. Gun free zones only restrict law abiding citizens ( CHL licensee) from being there to averts tragedy. By the way criminals also know school campuses parking lots are a great place for gun theft as current laws require CHL licenses to stow weapons in vehicle before entering campus buildings.
