  • Sex and the City 2: More Hype, Less Appeal   13 years 48 weeks ago

...ninety percent of what's called "social criticism" is really nothing more than bashing other people's taste?

I, for one, would be glad to let "them" whoop up Sex and the City for ever and ever if they'd just keep their hands off the environment, energy, war and peace, health care, etc., etc., etc.

Help on how close the tide bp oil leak system "Pantheon"
    I. Envelope-shaped jacket deflated carbon fiber to cr eate a ring with a trapezoidal section features the following attachments with double-wall flexible tubing fi t over the outer bubbling helium gas and 150 bar inside the pumping liquid cement
II. Ring- back for second ring sectors always drive cables to the union of several segments to the top of the issue
III. The ring elements wi thin them contain a network carrier whic h is collapsible for their use is necessary to us e inert gas for lifting then follows the injection of liquid cement
    IV. DESCRIPTION SYSTEM PROPOSED:
    V. The area of the former can be sc aled to the characteris tics of a diameter of about 50 m to 10 m and a base height of 2 m s hould know the morphology of the shelf
VI. The firs t coarse positioning can be such as to adapt to the fund of any kind for his placement
of common weights can be us ed, then you will need to fill the tubes wi th helium at 150 bar connecting the pipes will provide helium through the management of pressur e to enlarge the conduits and injection of liquid cement Relay output progres sive
VII. The rings wil l feature segments on the guide rope amarr e for further instal lation of the second flexible ring again with the same injection system
VIII. In this way even in the presence of explosive gases and the lik elihood of action is safe.
IX. The proposed sys tem has a high probabil ity of suc cess because even in extreme conditions placed on the first ring the rest is very easy and fast to implement.
X For the installation can be used for ballast on normal because it is not required any kind of accuracy.
The advantage of this system is that we can thr ough the hose is placed wi thout the dual pressur e gas When the ring of tissue reaches the bottom you can begin to put pres sure on the ex ternal sector that win the isostatic pressure of 150 bar, thereby generating the inner duct for the injection of liquid cement.
The use of liquid cement involves the level ing of the r ing for the cons truction of dome and then afinal element for the success .
The sys tem should have only two Judas areas to avoid the action of strong currents using more guides there is the problem that twisting.
Finally getting up to level decr ease the v olume of cement to be injected thus supported the counter issuanc e system can be called "Pantheon".
Estimated time of material success first 12 hours

I would ask people making these absurd accusations to back them up with evidence.

Otherwise they read like the thinly-veiled, self-interested diversionary tactics.

The most threatening thing to these detractors is that HSUS is extraordinarily effective at protecting animals.

  • Creepy Pennsylvania Ads Threaten Tax Evaders   13 years 49 weeks ago

What's not to like? The PA Department of Revenue is being completely up-front and honest about getting 'Tom' to pay his taxes. They are putting it right out there for all to see. No sneaky, behind-the-scenes, secretiveness here. This is the government telling you that you must conform or risk the consequences. It is exactly what those who worship at the feet of big government do, only they don't have the guts to tell you that.

    Thanks for the honesty PA!!

  • Shifting BP's Clean Up Costs to Consumers? Say It Ain't So!   13 years 49 weeks ago

There should be NO cap on real Corporate liabilities. If they go under, so be it! It would probably make for a more equitable and vibrant marketplace, anyway, rather than these multinational, amoral, all-consuming, Corporate beasts that "live" forever.

BP should have $6 BILLION ready cash, from their 1st Qtr 2010 PROFITS, to begin to pay for the cleanup and repairs and damages.

If they're not in prison where they should be, when attempting to "clog" the well with golf-balls, duct-tape and junk-mail, I think they should also throw in some executives from BP, Halliburton, and Transocean!

  • Study Debunks Insurers' Explanation for Exorbitant Rate Hikes   13 years 49 weeks ago

Its seems as if insurance companies are willing to do anything to get your money out your wallet. It is so very important for people to realize that rate hikes are not always because of the economy or because the insurance company is taking on new expenses. The job of a company is to maximize expenses by any means necessary. We as the people must hold insurance companies accountable.

  • Shifting BP's Clean Up Costs to Consumers? Say It Ain't So!   13 years 49 weeks ago

They cut any corner that presents itself in the interests of maximizing their share of the wealth of the world. This capping of damage liability just encourages more of the same. Why are we letting them get away with this?

We have a government that can ignore the electorate with impunity as they prostrate themselves before the giant corporations, eyes glazing over at the sight of all that wealth they don't want to disturb. It's happening everywhere as governments serve big business rather than the people they claim to represent. Why are we letting them get away with this?

That is a serious question—serious enough for them to label it as seditious: Why are we letting them get away with this? Why are we afraid to stop the pillaging of the people that this connivance between BP and government is but one example of?

  • Shifting BP's Clean Up Costs to Consumers? Say It Ain't So!   13 years 49 weeks ago

The cost of the oil spill cleanup should be passed on to oil consumers. Like it or not, it is part of the cost of using oil. Why should anyone else pay it? Why should someone who gets all their energy from solar panels pay it? Why should 'taxpayers' pay it? It's time our society started recognizing all the costs of the environmental damage caused by our chosen lifestyle, and coming to grips with the fact that oil users (and their inability to elect a decent government) are the ultimate cause of this spill. Gasoline should be eight bucks a gallon.

  • Shifting BP's Clean Up Costs to Consumers? Say It Ain't So!   13 years 49 weeks ago

Companies are generally not liable for exclusively economic damages under common-law tort, so the $75m, while low, was actually an addition of liability in response to the Exxon Valdez.

Regarding the question of costs being passed on to consumers: of course they will. Anything that costs BP will be passed on. Locating that cost in a tort suit rather than a tax will not change that. Moreover, those costs should be passed on. We are all culpable here; facile comparisons to i-banking are not helpful. Unless the costs of cleanup are passed on, we will continue to be paying artificially low prices for petroleum, which will lead to more such spills.

  • Bank Fight Continues -- Now It's Lincoln v. Obama   13 years 49 weeks ago

The Congress is an overbloated, disgusting, opportunistic, destructive and worhtless segment of our society that is so corrupt that it cannot be redeemed.

Senator Dodd will undoubtedly go to the hightest bidder when he "reires" and is so corrupt it is more than merrely nauseating. I am so sick of these overprvileged and worthless pieces of humanoid waste that I wish they would simply get paid off from the U.S. Treasury and just go away before they do any more harm. We should just pay them off and let them go home before they destroy the nation.

More than any radical Moslem terrorist, any member of Congress like Dodd or those of his ilk have done great harm to our nation.

The Democrats including but especially Obama are so disappointing that it makes any person who wasted a precious vote on them want to cry.

Go away and stop pretending you are Democrats. Stop it right now. You are dishonoring the memory of those of us who had parents who served in the New Deal. You are dishonoring their memory and making their work completely meaningless. Go home and steal from there, you worhtless, pretentious scum.

  • How Much Oil Is Really Spilling into the Gulf of Mexico?   13 years 49 weeks ago

I am a U.S. Marine, and I'm just blown away at how the government is handling this hole thing. I have not heard of but one attempt on how they are going to fix this, and its been alost 2 weeks, Since it has started there have been sighting of oil on the east coast in North Carolina, of oil bubbles. How B.P. is still even allowed to pump oil around the U.S. just shows you how the government is owned by the oil companies and its money.

  • Defend Derivatives Reform   13 years 49 weeks ago

I reckon, some kind of regulation should always be there. The idea/theory/philosophy of Laisses Faire is all good in an ideal world. But practically it is virtually impossible to follow in its entirety.

If we look at countries who have embraced free trade along with some good regulatory guidelines like India and China, we see that whilst countries all over the world were having recession -- these two countries still had 6.5 % plus GDP growth in last fiscal and are expecting 8% plus growth for the next fiscal.

So............. I support what Lincoln and Dodd are proposing about regulating banks to some extent.

  • Procter & Gamble Blames Parents, Social Media for "Chemical Burn" Allegations   13 years 49 weeks ago

If people feel there is something wrong with a product, especially one meant to be used for children, they should say it loud, and using social channels as FB is a very good way to do so and also stands high chances to be taken seriously if enough people join their voices. Companies should finally understand that pushing chemicals in all products - be them food, baby products, daily disposals etc.- has to have an end! If they do not care about our health, than we should force them to care!
The success of the recent Greenpeace campaign against the use of palm oil proves that it is possible!

  • Congress Needs to Clip Goldman's Wings   13 years 49 weeks ago

I would say its not only Goldman Sachs, but all those type of financial firms whereever they might be should be investigated all over the world and if found guilty should be punished severely by taking them over by the concerning states/countries.
Its because of their shady dealings that there is financial and job crisis the world over even if we forget Greece which is in turmoil right now!

  • How Much Oil Is Really Spilling into the Gulf of Mexico?   13 years 50 weeks ago

It is really terrible what's happening there, the biggest ecological disaster ever it seems ... They are not telling the truth yet and considering the fact that it is happening in the middle of the ocean, it's hard to get a sense of the true size of the spill. Thanks Google we have an idea of the surface of the spill, but what about its depth? I hear today that they were also incapable to properly manage the usage of neutralizing substances, and that their usage was delayed for days with catastrophic consequences. The region is going to be dead for years now, think not only on shrimps and tourism, but all local economy ... And the sea life? The birds? Who cares about them and their destroyed habitat?

  • This Is Going to Hurt: What Your Doctor Doesn't Say Can Cost You   13 years 50 weeks ago

If I could find a competent doctor that also has a healthy dose of compassion, I'd sell my soul to keep him/her happy.
I can't find a combination, and I've had many issues with my spine for many years.
If they are reasonably competent, they are so arrogant that it doesn't matter what you say to them. They will never see you as a human being, only an account # that pays or does not. Most of the time they won't even review a file before handing down sentencing...
If they have any compassion at all, never mind, I can't remember any...
Just self styled gods that pass judgement, either with an adequate file review before said judgement, or not.
Stealing your livlihood? You guys are robbing us blind, and more often than not, not even bothering to show us the respect you would for your dog while you're at it.
Why don't you quit complaining??? You obviously hate people by the way you talk. You'll know you've got us over a barrell, so you basically get away with sub-standard care at bankster prices.
The vast majority of doctors belong in jail, right along with the banksters, and politicians, but you'll should face harsher recriminations because you're playing with peoples' health...
Get a job working with machines. You obviously don't have the compassion, or intelligence to work with people, and I wouldn't trust you with an earthworm.
The worst part??? You're probably my doctor!!! You're at least a clone!!!

  • The Right Wing's Next Target: The Greenlining Institute   13 years 50 weeks ago

Wouldn't it be novel and proactive to just tell the complex truth instead of pushing political propaganda? I am a moderate who used to be a progressive, and am still a Green in my state, though our party merged with the Mountain Party. That is some of my progressive pedigree, but health and financial solvency, and you may be able to appreciate the value of my voice.

    I am raising it forthwith.

IMO, ACORN wasa corrupted, incestouous, jaded, PC organization which accomplished little of value and erred on the side of babysitiing folks instead of empowering them, and throwing the blame game around instead of enabling folks to stand up.

It is heinous what theyoffered to do for the investigative reporters, who are no diffferent from PETA people or anyone else who goes undercover because of the lack of true investigative media, anymore. The whole organizationis similarly corrupted. Anytime ACORN wants to stand up for real jobs outside the vile, violent black market economy, then they may be considered to ahve rediscovered their roots in strengthening social goods.
Meanwhile GREENLINING is an entriely different organzization and not deserving of the comparison you made. GREENLINING is a true community action program with revitalization of communities and financial parity. not black market crime and corruption, as its engine.
