Steve Schmidt, a former White House communications strategist and campaign manager for Arnold Schwarzenegger, has gone to work for Mercury Public Affairs, a subsidiary of the Fleishman-Hillard PR firm. On its website, Mercury lists Fuel Bio Holdings LLC Energy, IBM, Altria group (which includes several divisions of Philip Morris), Pfizer, AT&T, and corporate front groups Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care and the American Tort Reform Association among its clients.
