INTELLIGENT DESIGN
Capitalist psychology, which--for arguments sake--had a somewhat moral tutor in Christian psychology, has outgrown its tutor and shed its morals. Its savior is not a loving Jesus, but a cold-hearted dollar...
Christian psychology subsequently tailored itself to mesh with Capitalist Psychology--as it has had to tailor its rhetoric to be affective in light of the greater power of Science...
Christian psychology is now trying to insert its rhetoric into the greater power of Science with Intelligent Design. Although I am open to(and agree with)the assertion of Intelligent Design, I am against any religion being able to publicly lay claim to the concept as if it was and always had been a part of its dogma.

Intelligent Design - the Troyan horse of theocracy
Intelligent Design was created by Creationists when they understood their ridiculous claims could not become mainstream.
ID is a parody of scientific approach meant to destroy science. The Discovery Institute's "Wedge Document" revealed ID's hidden agenda : first bringing confusion, artificially reintroducing religion in the scientifical debate, and ultimately making Creationism mainstream.
Intelligent Design is the negation of science, an insult to human intelligence. The aim of the game is to restore theocracy.

"Intelligent" Design is Creationism
ID is just an attempt to cover Creationism with a
thin layer of science, so it can be taught in public
school. Perhaps parochial schools should be required
to teach Darwin. Religion should be taught in church,
not in public school.
The Christian War
In order to be psychologically free, one must comprehend psychological manipulation. This morning, I found myself wondering where the war in my psyche came from and realized that, in large, it came from Christianity beckoning me to develope an 'evil' force within myself and then go to war with it. In essence, religion manipulated me into going to war with myself. Throughout history, people have never fought for or against God. They have only fought each other--and themselves--over psychological manipulation...
Psychological Freedom is the core issue.
The illusion of freedom
This illusory notion of psychological freedom - which somehow arises from a process of self-reflection - sounds very much like it's founded on ideas of conscience and selfhood, themselves but crumbling remains from a much more naive humanist era.
What you have to come to terms with is the fact that, as the philosopher Paul Ricoeur puts it, you are "condemned to meaning". Simply put, even your notion of freedom, in all its guises, is itself caught up in a network of meaning and significance that is beyond your control.
What does this suggest? It suggests that you are always, and unavoidably, going to be immersed, or 'manipulated' if you like, even when you think you have broken free from the 'masses'. This breaking free - how it can 'mean' anything - puts you right back in the maelstrom I'm afraid.
You are already within the world of your concern, and you respond and disseminate meaning that is beyond your control. This 'war' that you're fighting, is perhaps an attempt to find something more beyond that. Sadly, there is nothing beyond...you have substituted 'heaven' for 'psychological freedom'...in 'essence', there's no difference...
Higher Power
In my opinion, we all have the capacity to believe in a Higher Power. That capacity is often manipulated by wisened members of society before we realize, within ourselves, the full extent of it. For my part, I have formulated my own views of the Higher Power and continued existence beyond this life span is my hope--my prayer.
Psychological Freedom is the core issue.
