Scott Walker and Barack Obama Have the Same Campaign Slogan, Who is the Commie Pinko Now?
Right-wing media is all fired up! The Washington Times, Fox and Breitbart bloggers have uncovered concrete evidence of President Obama's commie pinko sympathies. Obama's new seven minute campaign commercial ends with one word: "Forward."
"New Obama Slogan Has Long Ties to Marxism, Socialism" blares the headline in the Washington Times. "Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name 'Forward'...One was the daily newspaper of the Social Democratic Party of Germany whose writers included Friedrich Engels and Leon Trotsky," warns the Times.
Similarly, the Fox Nation opines, "the Obama campaign did not look backwards into history when choosing its new campaign slogan 'Forward' -- a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism."
The Breitbart bloggers weighed in with the important linguistic implication: "Communist leaders frequently used -- and still use -- the word 'forward' as an imperative verb, not as an adverb, usually at the conclusion of speeches or articles. It conveys a spirit of collective action and unity -- as well as the conviction of the left that its ideas represent progress."
Apparently, these ace researchers and thoughtful political historians relied heavily on Wikipedia and failed to notice one of their own using the same slogan. CMD has unveiled the following scorching evidence (currently on heavy rotation on Wisconsin television) of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's communist leanings. Every Walker ad, in response to the looming recall election, has the governor moving "Forward," while his opponents are moving -- get this -- "Backwards."
Hot tip from Wisconsin school children: "Forward" is the official slogan of the State of Wisconsin and appears on the Wisconsin flag (along with a badger) and the Wisconsin quarter (along with a cow).

"Forward" is the STATE motto
"Forward" is the STATE motto of Wisconsin. Please don't dirty it by calling it Walker's campaign slogan.
We already had a kerfuffle when right-wing reporters at President Obama's Milwaukee stop-over announced to the country that Obama is a union shill--because right under the American flag hung a flag with the word Forward and the number 1848 -- clearly Union 1848.
Except it was the Wisconsin flag, and 1848 was the year Wisconsin gained statehood.
I hope Walker will be gone soon, and we can quit confusing filth with the beautiful state of Wisconsin.
forward together
Forward (from Merriam Webster dictionary)
1 a : near, being at, or belonging to the forepart b : situated in advance
2 a : strongly inclined : ready b : lacking modesty or reserve
3 : notably advanced or developed : precocious
4 : moving, tending, or leading toward a position in front
5 a : advocating an advanced policy in the direction of what is considered progress b :extreme, radical
6 : of, relating to, or getting ready for the future
Where is the part about Marxism?
Did anyone point this out to Richard Nixon when he used "Forward Together" as his inaugural slogan in 1969?
Do you think the marxists worried that Forward was the motto of a state in the freedom-loving USA when it chose to use the word VORWARTS? Maybe they were closet democrats.
Seriously, it's the 21st century. Who under the age of 40 would have made that association without the rightwing pointing it out? Paranoia runs deep in the right wing.
In response to "forward together"
Very well said!
Forward!
Just for the record, the Forward! Marching Band has been using "Move Wisconsin Forward!" as our battle cry since February of 2011. I wonder how Walker would react to a cease and desist order?
Is the entire left wing really THIS obtuse??
Walker wants to move Wisconsin forward. Pretty simple.
And WI chose their state motto long before socialism demonstrated that it's a completely broken ideology that has failed, or is in the process of failing, everywhere it's ever been tried.
The far-left co-opted the word FORWARD as a political slogan decades ago, using it to identify factions and periodicals pushing various flavors of so-called "progressivism". This is the FORWARD the Obama Campaign has knowingly chosen as its political slogan. The connotation and the conscious choice of this political slogan could not be more clear... UNLESS you simply choose not to acknowledge it.
Oh Wisconsin
Wisconsin used to be the heartland of leftist progressive politics under Gov. Robert La Follette.
"He supported measures that doubled the taxes on the railroads, broke up monopolies, preserved the state's forests, protected workers' rights, defended small farmers, and regulated lobbying to end patronage politics. La Follette worked closely with professors from the University of Wisconsin to help the state become "a laboratory of democracy." By the time he joined the U.S. Senate in 1906, La Follette had become a national figure.
In Washington, La Follette pushed for the same kind of reforms he had promoted in Wisconsin. He often spoke at length on the corruption of government and the abuse of industrial workers. Arguing that the entire nation's economy was dominated by fewer than one hundred corporate leaders, La Follette supported the growth of unions as a check on the power of large corporations." http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/turningpoints/tp-035/?action=more_essay
Today Gov. Scott Walker is launching an all out attack on unions.
Yeah, having a difficult time
Yeah, having a difficult time acknowledging it, I lost my tinfoil beanie.
I know a good word for "Is ...this obtuse?": frivolous.
The right wing also uses "frivolous" often, especially for lawsuits against their favorite campaign contributors and candidates.
This wouldn't be the first
This wouldn't be the first instance Obama is too afraid to sign his handiwork. The war in Libya was called "Odyssey Dawn" an album by the band Yes. We can see the connections there which raise doubts that it was generated by a computer program. However, that was just a code name, not a campaign slogan.
But really, what a dumb way to look for an answer to a question that's already been answered. Obama is a part of the neo-conservative movement. This movement adapted Marxist discipline to organizing. Every party member repeating the same line is Bolshevism, and it was recognized in Buckley's magazine, the leading neoconservative rag.
Sad for the republican party, good for the democratic party
What does forward mean?
Well, if we hadn't been willing to move "forward", we would still be using candles and torches, horses, the outhouse in the backyard, and on and on. There would have been NO automobiles, airplanes, clean water, electricity, toilets and washbasins, internet, computers, telephones, cellphones, TVs, radios, and on and on. Forward means inventiveness, the future.
Republicans - however, would have us actually go backward to the dark ages where there were NO protections for workers, no regulations to insure clean drinking water, or unpolluted food, or the air we breathe, or the heavy metal we ride in (cars, planes, trains, etc.). Our children will be working at unsafe places at all hours with little schooling allowed because the GOP as a whole is against education of anyone who is not a wealthy person. Obama brought us out of the jowls of disaster akin to the Great Depression. He's done his best to ease the burden of the working poor and those who have lost their jobs (reducing the SS tax for employees to put more money in their pockets, and reducing the cost of COBRA 60%, the health insurance program where the unemployed pays the complete cost of their health insurance). That among many, many other things he's tried to help citizens with which the GOPers in Congress and elsewhere have been against from day 1 because Obama is NOT a republican. GOPers tend to lie to get their own way.
