Bad Oil Spill News for the Day

I realize there isn't any GOOD news about the oil spill, but among the countless bits of BAD news on it, here are a few big ones:
- Toxic Dispersant Maker Hires Top Lobbyists: Nalco, the maker of the toxic dispersant Corexit that BP is using, has a plan to deal with the toxicity of its product and all of the marine life poisoned in the Gulf ... lobbying! Surely, that will fix the problem. Or, at least, cover it up and get Nalco off the hook.
- EPA Covers Up Toxicity of the Oil Spill: Oh yeah, it's totally safe for all of the cleanup workers says BP... and the EPA. Why is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency covering up for BP, the biggest environmental criminal of the entire millennium? The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is saying it's safe, too.
- Meanwhile, BP is Burning Endangered Sea Turtles Alive. The Kemp's Ridley's Sea Turtles were painstakingly brought back from the brink of extinction in a beautiful story that was well-documented in the book Eco Barons by Edward Humes. More info here and take action here.
Anyone else sick of living in a country with a government that is so clearly for, by, and of the corporations?

Bad Oil Spill
I feel so unbelievably sorry for all the marine life and for the fishermen, it must of been an extremely tough time.

I have just read the story regarding the sea turtles.This is totally unbelievable. What is going on.Whoever allowed this to happen Must be accountable. This must be more public.I live in spain and have access to spanish and English t.v.and this is the first I have seen of this.

Push for alternatives
If we have to find anything positive in this mess it could be a serious push for alternative energy sources. I hope that this is a fact but it's really sad if we need a catastrophe like this to get our eyes to open.

Alternative energy
Another sad and tragic "accident" that can be directly related to our dependancy on oil. How long are we going to let the big oil companies hold us hostage to our need for oil to fuel our energy needs?
There are plenty of alternative energy sources available for further development.
All one has to do is search "alternative energy source" and you will find hundreds, if not thousands of good ideas for other ways, besides oil to supply electricity as well as fuel our cars.
Let's all keep those people affected by the latest oil disaster in our thoughts and prayers, but lets also consider how we can help stop this dangerous way of supplying our energy needs.
Helpless?
I felt so bad for the wildlife that's affected by this oil spill. Is there anything the locals can help regarding this accident?
Care about marine life in the Gulf!
"... all of the marine life poisoned in the Gulf ... " How we can save any creature from this danger?! If the marine life is end? How about us?
Big Corporations Conservative - Not
I used to think that big corporation had conservative values because conservative values include free enterprise as a major issue. I've come to discover that big corporation have no values other than making money.
Here we have one of the most liberal administrations in history and the big corporations are just as much in bed with them as the previous administration.
Follow the money.
