Seabat truly oversimplifies the notion that simply because the student did not learn, the teacher must have been effective. Perhaps the student did not get enough sleep because she is forced to work a 39 hour per week to help support younger siblings. Maybe the student did not learn because he has been transferred six times in a semester, because his single caregiver has been evicted or has moved numerous times throughout that same semester. It could possibly be that this student has a parent/parents who are cooking methamphetamine is the trunk of the family's 1982 Chevy Impala four-door that also doubles as bedroom and dining room. Stop ingesting the Koch/DeVos kool-aid and start looking at the facts. Poor educators are not the primary reasons students don't learn.
